Mary Idell Strickland Effingham Mrs. Mary Idell Strickland age 81, passed away Thursday, August 20, 2015 at her residence after an illness. Services will be held at 3 PM Sunday, August 23, 2015 at Bethel Baptist Church, with burial in the church cemetery, directed by Floyd Funeral Home of Olanta. Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM Saturday, August 22, 2015 at the funeral home. Born in Williamsburg County she was a daughter of the late Joel Phillip Weaver, Sr. and Isabelle Beard Weaver. She was employed by K-Mart and retired after 28 years, and was a member of the Truth Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church in Florence. She was preceded in death by her husband, Loran McLeod Strickland. She is survived by one daughter, Gloria Diane Lee of Effingham; a son, Larry W. Strickland of Scranton; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
