Maude Matthews Olanta Maude Dorphus Matthews, age 95, died Thursday, May 20, 2010 in a Florence hospital after an illness. Funeral services will be held at 4 pm Sunday, May 23, 2010 at Pine Dale Pentecostal Holiness Church with burial in the church cemetery, directed by FLOYD FUNERAL HOME, INC. of Olanta. Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm Saturday, May 22, 2010 at the funeral home. Born in Florence County she was the daughter of the late Nolan Wallace Lee and Linnie Lynch Lee. Mrs. Matthews took care of children in her home and was a member of Pine Dale Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Simon Matthews, two sons; Jerry Matthews and Sonny Boy Matthews, two sisters and four brothers. She is survived by two daughters; Mary Ethel Barrineau of Turbeville and Betty Jean Floyd of New Zion, six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
