Maylean W. Matthews Olanta Mrs. Maylean W. Matthews age 79, died March 27, 2011 in McLeod Hospice House after an illness. Funeral services will be held at 4 o'clock pm Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at Olanta Church Of God Of Prophecy with burial in the church cemetery directed by Floyd Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm Monday at the funeral home. Born in Clarendon County, she was a daughter of the late Charlie Welch and Louise Lee Welch. She was a member of Olanta Church Of God Of Prophecy and The Ladies Auxiliary of the church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Matthews, and a son, James Matthews. Surviving are three daughters, Lois Williams of Hemmingway, Elma M. Moore and Brenda Privette both of Florence. Three sisters, Dorothy M. Miller of Pamplico, Eloise Taylor of Kentucky, and Judy Fay Groves of Oklahoma. A brother, Sylvester Matthews of Philadelphia, PA. Four grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
