Melene Floyd Scranton Melene Beard Floyd, age 63, died Friday May 28, 2010 at a Florence hospital after an illness. Services will be held at 3 pm Monday, May 31, 2010 at Turbeville First Baptist Church directed by FLOYD FUNERAL HOME, INC. of Olanta. Visitation will be held from 6-8 Sunday, May 30, 2010, at Turbeville First Baptist Church, with other times at the home.. Born in Florence County she was the daughter of the late Josephine Beard. She received the Smyrna Award, a member of Dicey Gibbons Circle, and a teacher of The Natalie Coker Sunday School Class. She was the secretary at the church for twenty four years and a member of Turbeville First Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Richard Floyd of the home, three daughters; Melanie (Clint) Floyd of Scranton, Becky (Derek) Blow of Florence, Angel Coker of Olanta, one son; Doug (Paula) Floyd of Effingham, one brother; Buster (Wanda) Coker of Olanta, one aunt; Luell Hazelden of Santee, special cousins; Walton and Alma Locklair, special friends Alex and Mary Welch, Charlie and Ann Strickland, ten grandchildren and a number of neices and nephews.
