Courtney Eugene Culick, 92, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, June 14th, 2021. Born March 20th, 1929, in Scranton, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Otto and Queenesther Culick. He grew up on a rural, tobacco farm outside of Lake City. He retired from Georgia Pacific (formerly Williams Furniture) as foreman of the Saw Shop and attended Frierson’s Tabernacle. He enjoyed cutting his grass, going to Hardee’s on Friday mornings, and eating his sausage biscuits with a good, hot cup of coffee. Most importantly, his lifelong accomplishment was being married to his wife, Noveleen, for 67 years. His family knew him as a loving husband, father and grandfather. His faith in God was unwavering and he praised God, even in the end, for all his many blessings. He is survived by his wife, Noveleen Lee Culick, of the home, his sister, Dorothy Culick Kirby Altman of Georgia, four daughters, Debra (John) Chapman of Winnsboro, Wanda Culick of Salters, Karen (Anthony) Gause of Kingstree, and Robyn (Roy) Jones of Georgetown, five grandchildren, Lisa (Paul) Robinson, Michelle (Chris) Rabon, Gene Gause, Chasity Hopkins, and Courtney (Taylor) Anderson. He had ten great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews whom he loved very much. He was preceded in death by three brothers, J.D., Herbert, and Willie Culick, and one sister, Polly Brogdon. A funeral service will be held 4 p.m. on Wednesday, June 16, 2021, in the chapel of Floyd Funeral Home with burial in Lake City Memorial Park. Rev’s Billy Miles, Mike Benton and Jason Miles will officiate. Pallbearers will be Al Brogdon, Shay McKenzie, Michael Lee, Robby Matthews, Jimmy Coker, Myers “Peanut” Wilkes. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the residence, 2355 Olanta Highway, Scranton, SC 29591.
