Turbeville - Mr. Glellan Randolph Atkinson, age 92, died peacefully on January 27, 2015 after a brief illness. Born in Clarendon County, he was the son of the late William Thomas Atkinson and the late Ethel Morris Atkinson. Mr. Atkinson was a retired businessman having previously owned Atkinson's Shell Station, The Burger Hut and Chat n' Chew restaurant. He was a Veteran of WWII having served in German, Member of American Legion Post #132, Past member of Turbeville Ruritan Club and member of Olive Grove Free Will Baptist Church of the Pentecostal Faith. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 30, 2015 at Olive Grove Church, Turbeville, S.C. Visistation will be from 1:30 - 2:30 PM with Funeral at 2:30 PM. Burial will follow at church cemetery, directed by Floyd Funeral Home of Olanta. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Hodge Atkinson. A sister, Etheleen A. Thomas and brothers: Donnie H. Atkinson, Sr., Charles E. Atkinson, Sr., and Cecil Atkinson. Mr. Atkinson is survived by his daughter, Elaine Atkinson Hall (Al) of Mount Pleasant. He is also survived by his sisters: Rhoetta Oliva of Columbia, Lois Coker (Ralph) and Sylvia Jean Thomas (Paul) of Turbeville; Brothers: Billy Atkinson of Scranton, Bobby Joe Atkinson (Kathryn) of Kingstree, and J.T. Atkinson (Rhette) of Barnwell; A Grandson, Randolph R. Hall (Kimberly) of Pawleys Island and two great grandchildren, Carson Randolph Hall and Elsie Caroline Hall.
