Lake City Mr. Mack Ronald Floyd, age 73, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 7, 2017 after a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at 3pm on Thursday, August 10, 2017 in the chapel of Floyd Funeral Home of Olanta, with burial in Barrineau Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1-3pm prior to the funeral service at the funeral home, and other times at the home of Thurmond & Sandra Kaye Floyd, 1397 Floyd Drive, Lake City, S.C. 29560. Born in Clarendon County, he was a son of the late Henry Fulton Floyd and Viola Bonnie McKenzie Floyd. He was a former Deputy with the Florence County Sheriff's Office, former employee with Farmer's Telephone Coop., a retired farmer, and attended Barrineau Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Jensy Ruth Floyd and Winnie L. Reed; two brothers, J.R. Floyd and Franklin Floyd. Surviving are a daughter, Lori Lynn Horton (John) of Pawley's Island; a son, Brian Floyd (Claudia) of Lake City; a special niece, Sandra Kaye Floyd (Thurmond) of Lake City; a brother, Norwood (Shirley) Floyd of Lake City; four grandchildren, Dawson Floyd and Madison Floyd both of Lake City, and Mary Catherine Horton and John Horton both of Pawley's Island; many nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Commander Nursing Facility for the care that they provided.
