Mrs Betty Jean Broad Mcgee

SCRANTON - Betty Broad McGee, age 73, widow of Edward Carlyle McGee, died Friday, July 2, 2021, at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence. Born in Florence County, she was the daughter of the late George Eugene Broad and the late Ella Eloise Lee Broad. She was a member of the Beulah Free Will Baptist of Pentecostal Faith. She retired as a CNA with Laurel Gardens and formerly was a seamstress with Lazboy Manufacturing. She is survived by one son, Stephen McGee (Misty), and one son-in-law, Don Matthews all of Scranton; three sisters, Elizabeth Driggers, Patricia Hubbard, Linda Broad all of Scranton; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter, Pamela Matthews; one brother, Sam Broad; two great-grandchildren, Avery Matthews and Morgan Matthews. A funeral service will be held 4 PM on Sunday, July 4, 2021, at Beulah Free Will Baptist of the Pentecostal Faith, with Rev. Eugene Baker and Rev. Philip Cannon officiating. Burial will follow in the Broad Cemetery, Scranton. The Family will receive friends and family one hour prior to the service (3PM) at the church and other times at her son’s residence, 777 Salem Road, Scranton.
