Christine E. Shirer Miles Sumter Christine Elizabeth Shirer Miles died Friday, March 15, 2019 at National Healthcare Nursing Home of Sumter, after an extended illness. A Graveside service will be held at 2 PM Hicks Hill Cemetery, Old #4 Hwy, Monday, March 18, 2019, directed by Floyd Funeral Home of Olanta. Born in Sumter County she was a daughter of the late John Henry Shirer and Emily Bouchie Benenhaley Shirer. She was in the food industry being retired from Campbell Soup, a member of The Eastern Star, and member of Crosswell Baptist Church in Sumter. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, O'Neal Edward Miles, Sr.; a son, David Wayne Miles. She is survived by two daughters, Joyce Miles Truitt of Altamonte Springs, Fl., Barbara Harris Baker of Sumter; two sons, O'Neal Edward Miles, Jr. of Sumter, James Edward Harris of Lewisburg, N.C.; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
