Ethel Loretta Gibbons Floyd Turbeville Mrs. Ethel Floyd, age 79, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 21st, 2015 at her home. A funeral service will be held at 2pm Friday, October 23, 2015 at Turbeville First Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery, directed by Floyd Funeral Home. The family will greet friends tonight (Thursday) from 6-8pm at the funeral home. Born in Clarendon County, she was a daughter of the late James Harry Gibbons and Roxie Laney Morris Gibbons. She was a 1954 graduate of East Clarendon High School, President of her nursing class at Tuomey Nursing School from 1954 - 1957, a Registered Nurse at Clarendon Memorial Hospital from 1958 - 1966, and school Nurse at Clarendon School District #3 from 1966- 1998. She was a member of Turbeville First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl J.D. Floyd, a daughter, Loretta Valynn Floyd, two sisters, Laura Vivian Gibbons Hersperger and Edna Louise Gibbons Nesbitt, four brothers, Eugene Gibbons, Randolph Gibbons, Sr., Everette Gibbons, and James Sidney Gibbons, Sr. Surviving are two sons, Jayson E. Floyd (Melanie) and Joey R. Floyd (Ellie) both of Columbia. Two sisters, Zelma Jane Gibbons Rhodes of Turbeville, and Hazel Dean Gibbons Reynolds of Manning. A brother, J.H.
