Mrs. Jean Deyorio Smith

Smith, Jean Deyorio 69, formerly of Turbeville and Irmo, SC, passed away on Monday, November 16th at her home in Tampa, Florida. Born in Manchester, CT, she moved to Tampa as a child. She received her Bachelor's Degree at University of South Florida and worked as an elementary school teacher in Tampa for almost 30 years. She worked at Lake Murray Gymnastics, enjoyed volunteering, gardening and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Hugh Smith of Turbeville and their infant son. She is survived by her daughter Jennifer (Steven) Luhrsen; son, Jeffrey (Laura) Smith; son, Joseph (Laura) Smith; grandchildren: Amanda (Justin) Robinson, Catherine Luhrsen, Grace (Michael) Baron, Benjamin Luhrsen, Drew Smith, Riley Smith, Reese Nichols, JJ Smith; great granddaughter, Skylar Baron; sister, Patricia Mixon; and many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 22nd at Floyd Funeral Home 136 East Main Street, Olanta, SC 29114 from 4-6pm. A graveside burial service will be held on Monday, November 23rd at 10 AM at Pine Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery, 1090 Morgan St, Turbeville, SC 29162.
