Nancy Kay Johnson Welch, 56, widow of Delbert Welch, entered into eternal rest, surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, March 9, 2022. Born December 09, 1965, in Timmonsville, SC. She was a daughter of Peggy Elizabeth Spring Johnson and the late Arvin Mitchell Johnson. She is survived by her mother; her first husband, John Larry Pigate I; four children, Nancy Bass of Olanta; John Pigate, II (Nikki) of Turbeville, Kenneth Pigate of Florence, and Samantha Alexander of Timmonsville; six grandchildren, James Beard, Bryan Coker, Michael Bass, Michaela Bass, Tyler Pigate, and Taylor “Butter Bean” Pigate; five sisters, Ellen Welch (Berry) and Denise Hopkins both of Olanta, Dessie Floyd (Thad) of Turbeville, Patricia Jones (Wayne) of Darlington, and Jenny Johnson of Alcolu; three brothers, Joe Johnson and Ronald Johnson both of Olanta, and Michael Johnson of Lake City; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, her husband, a brother, Mitchell Johnson, a special companion, Jake LaVega; and a great nephew, Cayden Johnson. A memorial service will be held 11am on Saturday, March 12, 2022, in the chapel of Floyd Funeral Home. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The family would like to express their deep appreciation to Cindi Barnett and Elizabeth “Beth” Gleason of Agape Hospice and to Kathy, Shelia and Kim with Kindred at Home of Manning.
