Nellie S. Miles Lake City Mrs. Nellie Smith Miles age 97, died January 8, 2015 in a Florence hospital after an illness. Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock PM Sunday January 11, 2015 at Newtown Free Will Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery directed by Floyd Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6 - 8 PM Saturday at the funeral home. Born in Florence County, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Smith and Julia Lee Smith, she was a homemaker, and a member of Newtown Free Will Baptist Church and The Mellette Circle of the church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Miles, sisters, Lizzie Welch, Leona Dubose, brothers, Richard Smith and Henry Smith. Surviving are a daughter, Christine Miles Thornhill of Lake City, a son, Dalton (Denise) Miles of Lake City, two grandchildren, Sandra McAllister and Drew (Kelby) Miles both of Scranton, five great-grandchildren, Joshua Sivertson, Ethan Sivertson, Jada Miles, Adam Miles, and Nathan Miles.
