Opaline Christmas New Zion Mrs. Opaline Locklair Christmas age 80, died January 30, 2015 at her home after an illness. Funeral services will be held at 4 o'clock PM Sunday February 1, 2015 at Friersons Tabernacle Church with burial in McElveen Cemetery in New Zion directed by Floyd Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 2 PM until the time of service at Frierson's Church. Born in Florence County, she was a daughter of the late Willie W. Locklair and Olivia Floyd Locklair. She was a retired seamstress and was a member of Frierson's Tabernacle Church. She was preceded in death by siblings, Annie Laura Morris, Timon Locklair, Vernice Morris, Vera Coker, and Mark Sims. Surviving are her husband, James Durant Christmas of New Zion, a daughter, Linda Faye Christmas of Florence, three sons, Larry Locklair of Scranton, Sidney Eric Christmas and James Mitchell Christmas both of New Zion. Sisters, Mary Jane Humphries of Darlington, Ethel Lou Lee of Scranton, Myrtle McKenzie of Lake City, Lizzie Floyd of Turbeville, and Dorothy Gaymon of Olanta, a brother, Johnny Locklair of Scranton. 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
