BARRINEAU – Randy “Rub” Levern McKenzie, 65, husband of Lynn Altman McKenzie, passed away on Thursday, August 12, 2021, at MUSC in Florence. Born December 20, 1955, in Barrineau, he was a son of the late Wiley McKenzie and the late Lottie Beard McKenzie. He was a member of the Barrineau Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was a Mason and he loved getting together with his golfing buddies. He had a passion for farming and loved watching things grow. His pride and joy was his granddaughter, Turner Lynn, who was Papa’s heart. He is survived by his wife of 39 years; one son, Ryan Matthew McKenzie of Charleston; one daughter, Erin Lynn McKenzie of Barrineau; one granddaughter, Turner Lynn McKenzie of Barrineau; one brother Dean McKenzie (Dessie) of Barrineau; three sisters, Vera Coker and Christine Spring both of Barrineau and Marie Eaddy of Lake City; two sisters in law, Lawana McKenzie and Elsie McKenzie both of Barrineau; his chosen family he picked when he married Lynn - the members of the Altman Family; and by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Durant McKenzie and Doug McKenzie; and two sisters, Juanita Barrineau and Letha Coker. A funeral service will be held 11 A.M. on Saturday, August 14, 2021, at Barrineau Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Bobby Floyd, Rev. Michael Cantey, and Rev. Myers Graham officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 10 – 11 A.M. at the church and at other times at the residence, 2102 Padgett Road, Lake City. The family request that memorials be made to the Barrineau PHC Building Fund, 3709 St. James Road, Lake City, SC 29560.
