Raymond M. Dorrell

Olanta - Mr. Raymond M. Dorrell, age 69, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at McLeod Regional Medical Center after an illness. Funeral services will be 2pm Friday, September 18, 2015 at Unity Christian Fellowship with burial in the church cemetery, directed by Floyd Funeral Home. The family will receive friends tonight (Thursday) from 6-8pm at the church. Born in Florence County on March 17, 1946, he was a son of the late Dudd Willie Dorrell and Kelly Susannah Driggers Dorrell. He was retired from the Department of Corrections, was the former owner of Olanta Furniture, and was a member of Unity Christian Fellowship. He is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Derian Dorrell, a sister, Euvena McKenzie, and two brothers, Willie Joe Dorrell and Roger Dorrell. Surviving are his wife, Diane Lee Dorrell of Olanta. A daughter, Paige (Paul) McCutcheon of Scranton, a son, Micheal (Lynn) Dorrell of Gold Hill, N.C., a sister, Brenda (Bobo) Matthews of Scranton, a brother, Abbie (Darlene) Dorrell of Longs.
