Rhunette M. Yates Rhunette McKenzie Yates age 84, passed away Friday December 23, 2016 at her residence after an illness. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Tuesday December 27, 2016 at Pine Dale Pentecostal Holiness Church with burial in the church cemetery, directed by Floyd Funeral Home of Olanta. Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM Monday, December 26, 2016 at the funeral home. Born in Clarendon County she was a daughter of the late Rubin Daniel McKenzie and Lizzie Pearl Coker McKenzie. She worked at Avondale Manufacturing, Kingstree Knits, also homemaker, farmer, florist and a member of Olanta Garden Club where she loved to garden and grow flowers. She is preceded in death by her husband Silas Barnwell Yates; one step-sister, Liza Ann Ross Floyd. She is survived by three daughters, Elizabeth Rhunette (Danny) Epps of New Zion, Cora Lee (Lenew) Powers of Lake City, Sylvia Yates of Hickory, NC; one son, Silas Barnwell "Billy" (Bonnie) Yates, Jr. of Lake City; one brother, Houston (Betty) McKenzie of Lake City, ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
