Richard Hammond Harrison

August 30, 1978 — January 18, 2022

OLANTA - Richard "Ricky" Hammond Harrison heartbreakingly left this world on January 18, 2022 in the town of Florence, SC. Ricky was born in Florence on August 30, 1978, and was raised in Darlington. He attended Lamb’s Chapel and was the owner and operator of Super Cool Heating and Air Company. He is survived by his parents, Elaine and George M. Harrison Jr. of Olanta; a son Blakeland Harrison (Anna) of Myrtle Beach; a grandson Hampton Harrison of Myrtle Beach; a brother, George M. Harrison III (Kelci) of Olanta; and many nieces and nephews. For those who knew him were immediately drawn to his charismatic spirit and loving heart. As a father, Ricky spent his life dedicated to teaching his son how to be a father, husband, and man. He was always passionate about the outdoors. From fishing and hunting to working on cars there wasn’t much he couldn’t accomplish. Although he left this world much too soon, we know his love for Christ ran deep and he is sitting with our Father in a place of pure peace and wholeness. This world is a temporary journey and our Father has prepared a permanent place for us to call home. As a great friend once said, “Dad, I hope you have nice trip and I’ll catch up to you later.” He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Murray H. Laffidy and Lila B. Laffidy; and his paternal grandparents, George M. Harrison, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Murphy Harrison. A memorial service will be held 1 P.M. on Saturday, January 29th at Lambs Chapel in Florence. Arrangements are made through Floyd Funeral Home, 136 E. Main Street, Olanta, SC, (843)396-4470. www.floydfuneral.com
