TURBEVILLE – Robert “Robbie” Owens Horton, 55, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at McLeod Regional Medical Center, Florence. Born May 8, 1969, in Bennettsville, SC, he was a son of Wilson Owens Horton and Sara Haselden. He attended Horse Branch Free Will Baptist Church. He was a truck driver and he owned and operated two businesses, Horton Builders specializing in carpentry work and Puddin Swamp Retrievers, where he trained dogs for duck hunting and obedience training. He loved to hunt and fish, relishing his time on his boat riding on the lake. He is survived by his father, Wilson (Cheri) Owens Horton of Garden City; his mother, Sara (Keith) Haselden of Lake City; a daughter, Sierra (Dustin) Parshley of Turbeville; a son, Justin Horton of Turbeville; a grandson, Remington Parshley of Turbeville; two brothers, Owens (Tammy) Horton of Olanta and Brock (Annie) Horton of Sumter; one step brother, Danny Tyner of Jacksonville, NC; one step sister, Julia Tyner of Florence; his parents in-laws, Rusty and Vermell Green of Turbeville; two sisters-in-law, Lynn (Marvin) Geddings and Robin Moody all of Turbeville; nieces and nephews, Cole Moody, Hannah Moody, Josh (Megan) Geddings, Logan Horton, Tyler (Taylor) Horton, Emma Horton, and Oliver Horton; and his former wife, Heidi Horton of Turbeville. He was preceded in death by his son, James Horton; and his four-legged friend Echo. It was Robbie’s specific wishes not to have a formal funeral service. The family will host a visitation from 10am – 6pm on Friday, June 7, 2024, at the home of Dustin and Sierra Parshley, 1246 Carillon Road, Turbeville, SC.
