Ronald Mims Jordan

OLANTA – Ronald Mims Jordan, 82, husband of Arnette Morris Jordan, entered into his eternal rest on Sunday, January 8, 2023, at his residence. Born September 25, 1940, in Florence, he was a son of the late James Carl Jordan and the late Lila Mims Jordan. He was a 1963 graduate of Clemson University; was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Columbia and attended Nazareth United Methodist Church in Olanta. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy achieving the rank of Lieutenant after graduating from Officer Candidate School; he served in Vietnam; and was a retired Civil Engineer. He is survived by his wife of fifty-three years; one son, Jeffrey (Joey) Jordan of Taylors; two granddaughters, Sora Jordan and Holly Jordan; a sister-in-law, Deloris (Jimmy) Hewitt of Coward; a brother-in-law, Wayne Morris of Kingstree; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 2pm on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 in the chapel of Floyd Funeral Home with Rev. Julie Bellman, officiating. Burial will follow in the Thomas Cemetery. The family will receive guest one hour prior to the funeral Tuesday, January 10, 2023 from 1 – 2pm at Floyd Funeral Home and at other times at the residence, 743 N. Jones Road, Olanta, SC.
