Rose N. Price, a beloved member of the Sumter, South Carolina community, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 4th, 2024, at the age of 92 at McLeod Hospice House surrounded by her loving family. Born in Lake City, South Carolina on Saturday, May 14th, 1932 she was a daughter of the late Alexander Elro Floyd and the late Roxie Elise Caroline McElveen Floyd. Rose lived a life filled with love, devotion, and service to others. Rose was a cherished member of the Bethesda Church of God in Sumter where she was secretary of the Senior Adult Class for years. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she found great joy and purpose through her church communities. Her major task in life was being a homemaker along with several part time jobs over the years such as working the office at the tobacco warehouse, J.C. Pennys, Federal Crop Insurance, and a Red Cross Volunteer at Shaw Air Force Base. She is survived by her two loving sisters, Mitzi (George) Spring of Lake City, and Jeanette Carraway of Coward; her stepchildren, Jon (Kayte) Price of Cary, NC, Mardi (Bruce) King of Townsend, TN, and Penny (Harry) McCintosh of Townsend, TN; and her daughter-in-law, Mildred Barrineau of Walterboro, SC. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, along with ten step-grandchildren, five step-great-grandchildren, five nieces, and four nephews. Rose was preceded in death by her parents, her two beloved husbands, Leonias Barrineau and Carroll Price, along with her three sons, Billy Barrineau, Bobby Barrineau, and Tony Barrineau, and her three brothers, Elro Jr. Floyd, Jimmy Floyd, and Gene Floyd. The family invites friends and loved ones to a funeral service, which will be held 2pm on Friday, December 6, 2024 in the chapel of Floyd Funeral Home, Olanta with Rev. Al Smith, Rev. Bobby Floyd, and Rev. Michael Canty officiating. Following the service, Rose will be laid to rest in the Barrineau Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery, a place she held dear to her heart. Pallbearers will be Sterling Sims, Hunter Sims, Klye Sims, Jody Carraway, Robbie Floyd, and Harry McCintosh. A visitation will take place from 1 - 2 PM on Friday, December 6, 2024 at Floyd Funeral Home. Arrangements have been lovingly cared for by Floyd Funeral Home, Inc.
