Roxie Mae Floyd Beard

BARRINEAU – Roxie Mae Floyd Beard, 80, widow of Julian Houston Beard, entered her eternal rest on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loving family and friends. Born August 22, 1942, in Clarendon County, SC. She was the daughter of the late Rev. Herbert A. Floyd and the late Ida Mae Floyd. She was a homemaker, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a faithful member of Barrineau Pentecostal Holiness Church. She is survived by her daughter, Joby Gray (Preston) of Lake City; two grandchildren, Matthew Legrand Gray, and Roxanne Gray Eaddy (Hunter) all of Lake City; one great-grandson, Kallen Bennett Gray of Lake City; and one sister, Betty Lee (Johnny) of Lake City. She is preceded in death by her husband; one son, Bryan Beard; one sister, Buena Floyd Frye; and four brothers, Fraidy Floyd, Bobby Ray Floyd, Mitchell Floyd, and Nick Floyd. A funeral service will be held at 5 PM, Thursday, September 1, 2022, at Barrineau Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Dr. Bobby Floyd and Rev. Michael Cantey officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 – 5 PM on Thursday at Barrineau Pentecostal Holiness Church and other times at the home, 4318 St. James Road, Lake City. Pallbearers will be Trent Floyd, Logan Daniels, Trey Daniels, C.J. Driggers, Kohl Gaymon, and Slate Green. In leu of flowers the family requests that memorials may be made to Barrineau Pentecostal Holiness Church, 3709 St. James Road, Lake City, South Carolina 29560 The family would like to express their deep appreciation to Dee Stegall and Tanya Smith of Amedisys Hospice and to Dr. Priscilla Welch and her staff for the love and care they gave to Mrs. Roxie.
