Russell Devon Coker

Russell Devon Coker, age 79, passed away Friday November 27, 2020 at his home. Visitation will be from 10-11 am Sunday November 29 at Maranatha Pentecostal Holiness Church with a service to follow. He was born in Williamsburg County to the late William and Nettie Kirby Coker. He loved to fish and loved his family. His grandchildren held a special place in his heart. He was retired from Newton Construction. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 42 years, Ruthie Nell Coker; brothers, Lemual Coker, Keith Coker, Harry Coker, Hubert Coker, and Ernie Coker; and sister, Virginia Godwin. He is survived by his daughters, Rena' Welch (Kent) of Turbeville, Tracy Gibbons (Will) of Lake City, and Shannon Byrd (Jody) of California; son, Ronnie Coker (Leanne) of Turbeville; sisters, Janice Wilkes (Dexter) of Lake City, and Diane McKenzie of Kingstree; brothers, Jerry Coker of Charleston and Ricky Coker (Bea) of Charleston; 9 granchildren and 9 great-granchildren; special nephew, Chad and Karen Miles and children. The family would like to acknowledge special neighbors David and Trish Plowden and Junior and Robin Foxworth and a special thanks to his Amedisys hospice team.
