It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ruth Marilyn Levine, an extraordinary woman who touched the lives of many with her warmth and creativity. Ruth was born on April 22, 1934, in Brooklyn, New York, and left this world on April 7, 2025, just shy of her 91st birthday. At the time of her passing, she resided in Lynchburg, South Carolina. Ruth was a gifted interior designer who had an eye for elegance and beauty. Her career was not just a job but a passion, and she took great pride in her work. In addition to her professional pursuits, Ruth was deeply involved in several organizations that were close to her heart, including Hillel International and the Holocaust Museum. Her commitment to these causes was a testament to her compassionate spirit and dedication to making a difference in the world. Ruth is survived by her son, Gerald Levine, and his wife, Becky, of Turbeville, along with their extended family. She was a proud step-grandmother to Julia Ann Kennedy and her husband Jim, Allison Muller and her husband Justin, and Mary Ashley Turner and her husband Wesley, all residing in Turbeville. Additionally, she cherished her step-great-grandchildren Jennie Kennedy, Jamie Kennedy, Raina Turner, James Muller, and Henry Muller; and her care givers, Eartha Ham and Tanya Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Helen Band, and her beloved son, Shep Levine. Ruth's profound love for her family was her guiding light, and her legacy endures through them. The family would like to express their thanks to Agape Hospice for their support and care of Ruth, and extend special thanks to Samantha Robinson and Sherri Thompson. Although no formal services are scheduled at this time, Ruth will be remembered by those who knew her as a beacon of kindness and grace. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the Pine Grove Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 144, Turbeville, SC 29162, or to a charity of one's choice. Arrangements are being handled by Floyd Funeral Home, Inc. As we remember Ruth, let us celebrate a life well-lived and find solace in the cherished memories she leaves behind.
