OLANTA – Sammie Milton Morris, 86, husband of Jane Proctor Morris, entered his eternal rest on Sunday, March 27, 2022, while a resident at Palms of Florence. Born September 11, 1935, in Olanta, SC, he was a son of the late Ivan Lee Morris and the late Harriet Ruth Floyd Morris. Sammie served his country proudly as a member of the National Guard. He was a member of the Olanta Baptist Church and was a member of the Olanta Lions Club. He also was a mason and a former member of the American Legion Baseball. He was a farmer, and owned and operated the Sammie Morris Fertilizer Company. He is survived by his wife of 61 years; one son, Milton Morris (Alexis) of Olanta; one daughter, Sandra Morris Buss (Stephen) of Southern Shores, NC; four grandchildren, Erich Buss (Amy), Kevin Buss (Kelly); Ivan Morris; and Zane Morris; one great-granddaughter, Brinley Buss; and one sister-in-law, Margit Morris of Manning. A funeral service will be 3pm on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, in the chapel of Floyd Funeral Home with Rev. Myers Graham officiating. Burial will follow in the Olanta Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2pm – 3pm on Wednesday, prior to the service and other times at the residence, 2595 Norwood Road, Olanta.
