SCRANTON – Sarah Margaret Oxendine Matthews, 68, wife of Donald D. Matthews, passed away at her home on Tuesday, November 2, 2021, surrounded by her loving husband and family. Born August 26, 1953, in Laurinburg, NC, she was a daughter of the late James Ellis Oxendine and the late Nancy Locklair Oxendine. She owned and operated Sarah’s House Cleaning Service. She is survived by her husband of 18 years; two sons, Phillip Ralph Crowley (Lindsey) of Florence and Jason Crowley (Angela) of Ft. Stewart, GA; one daughter, Chasity Brown (Will) of Florence; four grandchildren, Meara Crowley, Anna Marie McCauley, Nadia Crowley, Cayden Brown; and a nephew, Joshua Oxendine. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, November 5, 2021 in the chapel of Floyd Funeral Home with Rev. Eugene Baker and Rev. Jake Sanderson officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the memorial service at the funeral home. The family would like to offer special thanks to Heather, Leah, Cynthia, and Jake of McLeod Hospice for their dedication, love and care of Sarah.
