Shelby Rantz Barrineau

Lake City Shelby Rantz Barrineau, age 79, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Palmetto Health Tuomey after an illness. Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Monday, January 22, 2018 at Barrineau Pentecostal Holiness Church, directed by Floyd Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 6-8 PM today (Sunday) January 21, 2018, at Barrineau Pentecostal Holiness Church. Born in Clarendon County he was a son of the late Dewey Vance Barrineau and Palmer Floyd Barrineau. He was a retired farmer, Teacher and Coach at East Clarendon Middle/High School, served on East Clarendon District 3 School Board, a co-founder of Barrineau Recreation Department, a member of Barrineau Pentecostal Holiness Church, where he served as Usher, Sunday School Teacher, Church Secretary/Treasurer, and was a Deacon. He is preceded in death by two sisters, Gladys Daniels, and Ilene Moore; two brothers, Curtis Barrineau,and Lyndell Barrineau. He is survived by his wife Letha Granger Barrineau of the home; one daughter, Lisa (Rocky) Powell of Coward; two sons, Mike (Rebecca) Barrineau of Kingstree, Jeffrey (Danielle) Barrineau of Lake City; one sister, Mary Barrineau Ward of Lake City; eight grandchildren, Rantz Powell, Daniel Powell, Dewey Powell, Mary Rebecca Barrineau, LeeAnn Barrineau, AnnaGrace Evans, Shelby Elaine Barrineau, and Granger Barrineau; sister-in-laws Ann Barrineau, Dorothy Sullivan, Ann Granger, brother-in Laws, Leverne Daniels, Dick and Sara Granger.
