Sheryl Cook Aguilar

LAKE CITY - Sheryl Cook Aguilar, age 65, wife of Placido G. Aguilar, passed away on Sunday, July 7th, 2024 at MUSC Health Orangeburg. She was born on December 18th, 1958 in Kingstree, SC to her parents the late Edward Cook and the late Elline McDonald Cook. Sheryl was a devoted and loving wife to her husband, Placido G. Aguilar and loving mother to her children. A funeral service will be held at 11am on Thursday, July 11, 2024, in the chapel of Floyd Funeral Home of Olanta. Burial will follow in the Pine Dale Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Scott Sherer, Travis Prosser, Jason Cameron, David Kersey, Dustin Prosser, and Maceo Black. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, from 6-8pm at the funeral home. She is survived by her husband of 35 years; two sons, Scott Mouzon of Georgetown and Randy (Whitney) Aguilar of Pamplico; one daughter, Brandy Aguilar of Dillon; grandchildren, Joshua Mouzon, Nicole Mouzon, Nick Mouzon, Sydney (Jacob) Daves, Kinsley Aguilar, Jonathon Aguilar, Kaylen Richardson, and Mason Mouzon; one great grandson, Josiah Mouzon; two sisters, Donna Cook Hammond of Turbeville and Janice Nexsen (Sammy) of Cades. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a grandson, Brandon Mouzon, In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations may be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital at 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
