Thessie Coker Floyd

Lake City - Mrs. Ellen Thessie Coker Floyd, age 84, passed away Saturday, November 21, 2020 at her home after an illness. Graveside services will be at 11am (Tuesday), November 24, 2020 at New Town Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery, directed by Floyd Funeral Home of Olanta. The family will greet friends immediately following the graveside service. Covid-19 precautions will be observed at all services. Please wear a facemask. Born in Clarendon County, she was a daughter of the late Douglas D. Coker and Mollie Jane McKenzie Coker. She attended East Clarendon High School and was a member of New Town Free Will Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Mellette Women's Circle. She farmed alongside her husband and enjoyed gardening and collecting farmhouse antiques. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jason Shelley Floyd, a son, James Robert Floyd, a sister, Alice Faye Ward, three brothers, Fred L. Coker, Douglas Mack Arthur Coker, and Douglas D. Coker, Jr. Surviving are her daughter, Teresa Floyd (Billy) Graham of Olanta, grandson, Jeffery Lance (Maysa) Parker of Lake City, granddaughter, Cassie L. Graham (Shady) Rodgers of Olanta, two sisters, Winnie Goins and Diane Munn, a brother, Kenneth "Ken" Coker of Lake City, and two great granddaughters.
