TURBEVILLE – Thomas Welch, 81, husband of Judy Ann McKenzie Welch, entered his eternal rest on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at MUSC Charleston. Born May 6, 1942, in Clarendon County, he was a son of the late Mike “Coot” Welch and the late Mary Feagin Welch. He was a member of Maranatha Pentecostal Holiness Church and the church’s Mens Club. Thomas enjoyed farming and in particular he enjoyed working with his farm animals (goats, pigs and chickens). He is survived by his wife of 55 years, one son Thomas Kevin (David Joye) of Jacksonville, FL; three daughters, Barbara Green of Turbeville, Melanie Welch (Leatha Mustard) of Columbia, and Karen Eyestad (Rodney) of Timmonsville; four grandchildren, Jamie Burrows, T.J. Burrows, Carl Burrows, and Breanna Green; nine great grandchildren; and five brothers, Archie Welch, Ray Welch, Lanair Welch, Elbert Welch and Martin Welch. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Ruth Nell Coker, Mary Lee Floyd, and Sally Marie Miles; and two brothers, Henry Welch, and Sidney Welch. A funeral service will be held 3pm on Sunday, May 14, 2023, at Maranatha Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Noah Walker and Rev. Donald Duncan officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Dale Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael Welch, Adam Welch, Brent Welch, Daniel Welch, Jamie Burrows, and Carl Burrows. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service (2-3pm) on Sunday at the church. The family request that memorials be made to the Maranatha Pentecostal Holiness Church.
