SCRANTON - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Timothy Carlton Gaskins, peacefully departed this world on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at the age of 59. Timothy was born on a warm Thursday, July 15, 1965, in Florence County, South Carolina, and is a son of the late Carl Rembert Gaskins and the late Judy Lee Parrott Gaskins. Timothy spent his early years in the Florence County area, where he cultivated a deep appreciation for the region and its people. He resided in Scranton, South Carolina, where he was known for his kind spirit and compassionate nature. Throughout his life, Timothy faced challenges with grace, having been disabled, yet his spirit remained resilient and unwavering. His strength and positivity were an inspiration to all who met him. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, whose guidance and love undoubtedly shaped the remarkable person he became. Those who had the pleasure of knowing Timothy will remember his infectious smile, gentle demeanor, and his unwavering dedication to his friends and family. He was a beacon of warmth and kindness in his community, always willing to lend a helping hand or a sympathetic ear. He is survived by his sister and her family, Ann Ayers (Brian Burcham) of Hinton WVA; a nephew, Bobby (Cora) Ayers of Hinton WVA; two great nieces, Charlie Elizabeth Ayers and Raeleann Ayers; and a number of extended family members. A funeral service will be held 3pm on Sunday, February 23, 2025, in the sanctuary of the Olanta Baptist Church with Rev. Myers Graham officiating. Burial will follow in the Olanta Baptist Church Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Sunday, one hour prior to the funeral service in the sanctuary of the Olanta Baptist Church.
