Vivian Gibbons Rogers

October 10, 1918 — June 25, 2023

For Vivian Gibbons Rogers, a new day dawned on Sunday, June 25, 2023 when her faith became sight. The angels rejoiced as she was welcomed home by her Savior. Born in Turbeville, SC to Annie Shug and George Allen Gibbons in 1918, she passed away at the age of 104 in West Columbia, SC. Her pride and joy were her five children. She leaves behind Rebecca Nagy (Robert), Sharon McCoy (Harmon), Nancy Keisler (Arthur Williamson), Johnny Rogers, and Sally Hicks (Joel), as well as 12 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Otha C. Rogers Jr., and her sisters Gladys, Lillian and Evelyn (her twin). She loved to read her Bible, was a woman of prayer, and was a member of Cayce First Baptist Church for over 50 years. She was known for her devotion as a mother and her ability to befriend anyone. To know her was to love her. She leaves us weeping and with aching hearts, but we do not mourn as those who have no hope. Her memory will linger with us - sweetly and tenderly until we see her again. A graveside service will be held 3:30pm on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at Gibbons Family Cemetery, 1181 Gibbons Cemetery Road, Turbeville, SC. The family request that memorials be made to Saluda River Baptist Church, 3459 Sunset Boulevard, West Columbia, SC 29169. Arrangements made through Floyd Funeral Home, 136 E. Main Street, Olanta, SC, (843)396-4470. www.floydfuneral.com
