W.E. "Billy" Baker, Jr. New Zion Mr. William Edgar "Billy" Baker, Jr. died Monday, June 25th, 2012. Funeral services will be 11a.m. Thursday, June 28, 2012 at New Zion United Methodist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be tonight (Wednesday) from 6-8pm at Floyd Funeral Home of Olanta. Born in Clarendon County, he was a son of the late William Edgar Baker and Ava Vermell McIntosh Baker. Mr. Baker was a retired farmer, Shriner, member of the Bullhead Hunting Club and New Zion United Methodist Church. His interests included hunting, fishing and racing. Surviving are his wife, Mary Gertrude DuRant Baker of New Zion; two daughters, Mary Ava Baker of New Zion and Dianne Baker Uber (Berni) of Conway; a son, William Edgar Baker, III (Gwyn) of New Zion; and a sister, Margaret Estelle Abel (Fred) of Jupiter, Florida. He had seven grandchildren, Mary Kathryn Jordan, Allison Knowlton, Trudy Baker, Alyssa Uber, Mary Jude Lambert, Stephen Lambert, and Amos Uber, as well as two great grandchildren.
