Walter Laverne "Tooney" Parrott

Walter Laverne "Toony" Parrott Cades Mr. Walter Laverne Parrott, age 73, died Monday, January 13, 2014 at his home after an illness. A funeral service will be 3pm Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Floyd's Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church with burial in church cemetery, directed by Floyd Funeral Home of Olanta. The family will receive friends tonight (Wednesday) from 6-8pm at the church. Born in Florence County, he was a son of the late Walter Parrott and Evelyn Louise McGee Parrott. Mr. Parrott was a retired farmer, carpenter, owner and operator of Parrott's Grocery, and attended Floyd's Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Dexter Leonard Parrott. Surviving are his wife Shirley Faye Floyd Parrott of the home. Two daughters, Carolyn (Mark) Huber of Lexington, S.C. and Elaine (Phil) Eaddy of Nesmith, S.C. Three sons, Russell (Sherry) Parrott of Lake City, Gregg (Jennifer) Parrott and Anthony (Bridget) Parrott both of Cades. A sister, Annie Mae Miles of Scranton. Two brothers, Wesley Julious Parrott and Levette McCutcheon both of Scranton. Eleven grandchildren, four great grandchildren.
