Walton B. Locklair Scranton-Walton Bedney Locklair, age 90, husband of Alma Welch Locklair, passed away Friday, September 16, 2022 at his residence after an illness, surrounded by his loving family. Born July 8, 1932 he was the son of the late Bedney Locklair and Virginia “Jenny” Barfield Locklair. He was a member of The United States Army, worked with South Carolina Highway Department as Foreman in the maintenance department, and was a member of Salem Free Will Baptist Church of Scranton, where he enjoyed singing and fellowshipping, also enjoyed spending time with his family and telling stories about old times. He is survived by his wife of 71 years; one son, Walt (Selena) Locklair of Turbeville; two grandsons, Chase & Tyler Locklair; also many nieces, nephews, cousins, and family members. He is preceded in death by his parents; ten siblings, Maggie Lee, Lilly Marie Strickland, Samuel “Boy” Locklair, Isa Mae Tedder, Leonard Locklair, Thelma Odom, Sybil Locklair, Louise Lee, Edward Locklair, Hazel Hutchinson. Pallbearers will be Doug Floyd, Clint Floyd, Derek Blow, Edward Lee, Brandon Rushing, and Allen Caulder. A funeral service will be held at 4 o’clock Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at Floyd Funeral Home Chapel in Olanta, with burial at Bethel Baptist Church. Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM Monday evening, September 19, 2022 at the funeral home.
