Wayne Wright Baird

NEW ZION – Wayne Wright Baird, 75, husband of Lois Brenda Morris Baird, entered his eternal rest on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at McLeod Hospice House surrounded by his loving family. Born June 13, 1949, he was a son of the late Wright Oscar Baird and the late Marlee Mariah “Bunt” Welch Baird. He was retired from the trucking industry. He was a member of the Bull Head Hunting Club and enjoyed hunting. He also enjoyed farming, being on his tractor, working in his garden, cutting grass, and piddling around in his shop. He is survived by his wife of 52 years; a son, John “Johnny” Wayne Baird (Jessica) of New Zion; a daughter, Janet Baird “Jeffrey” Evans of New Zion; four grandchildren, Johnathan Baird (Heather Knowlton), Jordan Elizabeth Baird, Layla Mariah Welch, and Gavin Beasley Evans; and one sister Carol Baird Miles of New Zion. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, John Rockwell “Rocky” Baird. A memorial service will be held 11 am on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, in the Chapel of Floyd Funeral Home with Rev.
