Willie Joe Kirby Willie Joe Kirby age 87, formerly of Olanta, died November 28, 2010 at his daughter's home in Aynor after an illness. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock pm Wednesday December 1, 2010 at Bethel Baptist Church in Olanta with burial in the Church Cemetery directed by FLOYD FUNERAL HOME. The family will receive friends at the church from 12 - 2 pm prior to the service. Born in Florence County, he was a son of the late Winget Lewis Kirby and Henrietta Eunice Carraway Kirby. He was a WW II Army Veteran, a retired diesel mechanic, a former deacon, Sunday School teacher, and was an avid fisherman. He was preceded in death by his wife; Sarah Dennis Kirby, three grandsons; Matthew F. Kirby, Christopher C, Kirby, and Michael F. Kirby, a great-grandson; Tyler Poston, and a great-granddaughter; Savannah M. Miniard, two sisters; Gladdis Kirby Welch and Christa Belle Kirby DeFee, four brothers; Loney W. Kirby (WW I), Duey Kirby, Alick Kirby and Winston Kirby. He is survived by three daughters; Wilma Jo (James) Myers and Angelia (Bruce) Roberts both of Aynor, Sarah Lynn Johnson Mosspoint, Ms, two sons; Howard F. (Rosie) Kirby of Patrick and Dennis W. (Patsy) Kirby of Florence, 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
