LAKE CITY - Willie Myrtle Locklair McKenzie, 85, widow of Berlon McKenzie, died Sunday, January 16, 2022, at Lake City Community Hospital. Born on May 6, 1936, in Florence County, she was a daughter of the late Willie Walter Locklair and the late Olivia Floyd Locklair. She was a member of Floyd Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church where she was a member of the adult Sunday school class and the women’s circle. She retired from Wentworth Manufacturing as a seamstress. She is survived by one son, Stanley Thigpen of Lake City; one daughter, Elaine Reardon (Oris) of Kingstree; three grandchildren, Ben Reardon, Toria Lynn Thigpen, and Milton Thigpen (Denise); ten great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; one brother, Johnny Locklair of Scranton; and two sisters, Elizabeth Floyd of Georgetown and Dot Gaymon of Olanta. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Johnny Harris Thigpen and Berlon McKenzie; one brother Tillman Locklair; and six sisters, Annie Laura Morris, Mary Jane Humphries, Vernice Morris, Ethel Lou Lee, Vera Coker, and Opaline Christmas. A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, in the Chapel of Floyd Funeral Home with Rev. Douglas Filyaw and Rev. Billy Lee officiating. Burial will follow in the Smith Cemetery, Kingstree. Visitation will be held from 1 – 2 pm on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at Floyd Funeral Home.
