Winnie Lou Kirby Defee

Timmonsville Winnie Lou Kirby DeFee, age 85, passed away Monday, December 1st, 2014 at McLeod Regional Medical Center. A funeral service will be 11am Thursday, December 4rd, 2014 at Bethany Free Will Baptist Church with burial in church cemetery, directed by Floyd Funeral Home of Olanta. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5pm - 7:30pm at the funeral home. Born in Florence County, she was a daughter of the late Ralph Waldo Kirby and Hattie Elizabeth Langston Kirby. She was a member of Bethany Free Will Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Alvie Carroll DeFee. A sister, Charlotte Anderson. Five brothers, Waldo Kirby, Gorden Kirby, Habron Kirby, Emerson Kirby and Burnett Kirby. Surviving are three daughters, Camellia Ross of Timmonsville, Ja-Jaun (Johnny) Lienau of Summerville, and Yvonne (Ernie) Follett of Branchville, S.C. A son, Alvie Carroll DeFee, Jr. Of Charleston. Five sisters, Reba Hinson of Summerville, Valerea Mims of Florence, Cordelia Dorrell, Motie Coleman, and Bonnie Mixon all of Timmonsville. Eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren.
