Wyman L. Morris, DDS, of Manning, Died February 15, 2016 at his home. Service will be at 1 PM Saturday February 20, 2016 at Floyd Funeral Home chapel in Olanta, with Bobby Richardson and Dr. Ron Richardson, officiating. The family will receive friends for 1 hour prior to the service. Born July 11, 1932 in Sumter County, he was a son of the late Ivan Lee Morris and Ruth Floyd Morris. He graduated Valedictorian from Sherwood in 1950, then enrolled at Clemson receiving a BS degree in pre-medicine with honors in 1954. He pursued his love of baseball at Clemson, at the All Atlantic Coast Conference team, and served a term on the Board Of Visitors of Clemson University. He played baseball in Nova Scotia, Canada during the summer, and helped coach the American Legion P-15's in Sumter. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from U.N.C. School of Dentistry, graduating third in his class in June 1958, moved to Sumter and established a private practice in the early fall. Some years later he became Plant Dentist at Campbell Soup Company. Dr. Morris was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Sumter where he served as a deacon and sang in the church choir. He retired from there and moved to Lake Marion when his health began to fail. Surviving are his wife; Margit Morris of Manning, daughters; Rosanne Morris Prescott of Sumter, Rebecca Morris (Lane) Estes of Rock Hill, and Petra (Ty) Darby of Summerton, one brother; Sammie (Jane) Morris of Olanta, 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
