Our History

Our Beginnings
In 1927, J. Kelly Floyd and his wife, Colene Ham Floyd, founded Floyd Funeral Home in their home on Magnolia Street in Olanta. They operated the funeral home for many years with their son, James Kelton Floyd who began working at the funeral home at an early age. James Kelton Floyd took over full time management in 1970, after the death of his father, J. Kelly Floyd, he managed the facility until illness forced him to retire in 2015, when his son, Donn “Kell” Floyd, assumed management of Floyd Funeral Home.
In April, 2022, the Floyds sold the funeral home to Gregg and Debbie Rollings of Rollings Funeral Service of Atlanta, Ga. Gregg’s desire was to keep the funeral home family/community oriented. So, they retained the services of Charles “Chuck” Dukes and Patrick “Pat” Goodwin to continue the operation of the funeral home. In May, 2022, Michelle Floyd Dukes was added to the full-time staff as an administrative assistant.
For over 90 years Floyd Funeral Home has been a staple in the Olanta and surrounding communities - serving and caring for families from all walks of life. Pat & Chuck are willing to help families make hard times a little easier never losing sight of our commitment to professionalism, compassion and empathy. If we can be of any assistance to you or members of your family, we would be honored to help and partner with you.
